Youth Day Adventures

DAY ADVENTURES INFORMATION:

*For all Day Adventures drop-off will be at the AYR Motor Centre from 7:30-8:30am (unless otherwise stated), and pick- up will be at the AYR Motor Centre from 5:00-5:30pm (unless otherwise stated).

A Day on the Water: For youth ages 11 and up. Thursday, June 28th, 8am-5:30pm. Only 15 spots available! We will be transporting everyone in the community van up river to Florenceville-Bristol area where we will hike the Shiktehawk Stream Trail in the morning. For lunch, we will head to the Doghut canteen where kids will have the option of purchasing lunch or they can bring a brown bag lunch. After lunch we will transport everyone to begin our kayak/canoe tour in Florenceville and paddle down to the Doghut location to get out. We will return to the AYR Motor Centre for 5pm. Items to Bring: change of clothes, towel, brown bag lunch or money for lunch, snacks, sunscreen, water, bug spray, sunglasses, hat, and sneakers. Cost: $65. Must register in advance. Chasing Waterfalls: For youth ages 8 and up. Thursday, July 5th, 8am-5:30 pm. 15 spots available. At 8:30 we will head out in the community van to find as many local waterfalls as we can before we have to be back at 5pm. This will involve hiking and exploring through the trails and woods in the upper river valley region. Items to Bring: Athletic clothing, sneakers, water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, lunch, snacks. Cost: $35. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

Exploring the Wilderness: For youth ages 8+. Thursday, July 12th, 8am-5:30pm. Only 15 spots available! In the morning, we will practice archery skills at the Woodstock Archery Club. Then we will head to Red Bridge to the Meduxnekeag Trails where we will have a guided trek through the orange and yellow trails. To end the day, we will go geocaching around town. Items to Bring: Sneakers, water, lunch, snacks, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray. Cost: $40. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

Ultimate Survivor: For youth ages 12+. Friday, July 13th, 8am-5:30pm.. Only 15 spots available! At 8:30 we will head out to Megiddo paintball located in Bairdsville (just south of Perth). While there we will play attack the tank, defend the fort, and cops and robbers in the village of alderville. We will return to Woodstock at lunch time, and spend the afternoon on the trail behind Dairy Queen where we will learn survival skills like fire-starting and shelter-building. Need a parent signed waiver to go to paintball. Items to Bring: Clothes that cover whole body and are thick (sweater and pants), sneakers, hat, baseball cap, lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray. Helmets are provided, but can rent more gear at an extra cost. Also, may want to bring an extra $10 in case paintballs included in the cost run out. Cost: $55. All Things Marine: For youth ages 8+. Thursday, July 26, 8:00am-5:30pm. We’ll be visiting the beautiful town of St. Andrew’s where we’ll visit the Huntsman Fundy Discovery Aquarium and everything St. Andrew’s has to offer. Items to bring: a change of clothes, bathing suit and towel, water, lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. Cost: $65. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

Just Hanging Around: For youth ages 12+. Thursday, Aug 9th, 8am-5:30pm. Only 15 spots available! Participants must be able to reach 5’11” with their fingertips. At 8:30 we will head out to TreeGO Mactaquac. We will be hanging and zipping through the trees from 10am to lunch time. We will have lunch at TreeGO, and then venture to Mactaquac beach where we will swim and play for the afternoon. Items to Bring: Athletic clothing, bathing suit, towel, water, lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. Cost: $80. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

Woodstock Youth Angler’s Club: For youth ages 12+. Thursday, August 9th, 8am-5:30pm.. Limited spots available! At 8:30 we will head down to the river. The day will begin with learning the proper casting technique, once the basic skills have been mastered youth will fish at local spots on the Meduxnekeag River. After lunch, we will venture out onto the water for the afternoon to explore local hot spots for different types of local fish. Items to Bring: Athletic clothing, bathing suit, towel, water, lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. Cost: $45. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

Splish & Splash (Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park)ages 8+ (full-day). Friday, August 10th, Full-day-8am-5:30pm, We’ll enjoy the day playing on the playground, a picnic lunch, and a slip n slide at the Water Wizard Water Slides. Items to bring:  a change of clothes, bathing suit and towel, water, lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. Cost: $50 (full-day); $25 (half-day). For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance.  Wet & Wild (Quilli’s Family Fun Water Park): For youth ages 10+. Monday, August 13th, 8am-5:30pm. We’re heading to Woolastook to enjoy a day on the inflatable water park. This was one of our favourite day trips last summer. Items to bring:  a change of clothes, bathing suit and towel, lifejacket, water, lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. Cost: $65. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance.  A Trip Back in Time: For youth ages 8yrs+. Thursday, August 16th, 8am-5:30pm. We’ll be visiting the historical site at King’s Landing near Fredericton.  We’ll step back in time with a community of costumed characters and several historic buildings. Participants will enjoy a full day of visiting various locations to learn how things were done in the past. Cost: $55. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance.  Luv’in Summer: For youth ages 8yrs+. Friday, August 17th, 8am-5:30pm. Participants will enjoy a day at the water park near Fredericton where we’ll have access to a heated pool and water slides! Other activities include mini golf, a climbing wall and kayak rentals. Cost: $65. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Kids Who Care: For youth ages 11yrs+. Monday, August 20th, 8am-5:30pm. For those interested in becoming more involved in their community. We’ll explore local opportunities for volunteerism and community involvement and how important it is and to get acquainted with local volunteer organizations. We will be visiting an animal shelter, a senior’s complex and the local food bank.  Items to Bring: Water, snacks, lunch, sneakers. Cost: $35. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at the time of registration. Spots are limited to 6.

Science and Nature Exploration: For youth ages 8yrs+. Thursday, August 23rd, 8am-5:30pm. 15 spots available. At 8:30 we will head out to Science East in Fredericton. Their leaders will give as a science-filled demonstration, followed by some exploring of the centre. We’ll head to Killarney Lake Park to have a picnic lunch and explore the trails. Items to Bring: Sneakers, lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, hat. Cost: $55. For an additional $10, participants have the option of ordering a brown-bag lunch from our 2nd Home Café & Grill.
