Kids of Steel Triathlon: This Canada Day event is for kids ages 5-15 years old. Bike Check is from 8:30-9:30 AM, and the Swim, Bike, Run event will start at 10 AM at the AYR Motor Centre, Friday, July 1st. The overriding concept of the triathlon for kids is centered on creating a healthy lifestyle both physically and mentally. Registration for this event is only $10 and includes a t-shirt, a participant’s medal, and refreshments following the race. Sponsored by: Manulife Securities

Survivor Woodstock: Free Agents! Day Camp: This day camp will be offered to youth ages 11-14 starting Monday, July 4th and ending Friday, July 8th. Drop off is at 8:00 AM sharp, and pick up will be at 5:00 PM. Campers will be dropped off and picked up at the AYR Motor Centre lobby, but will be walking to and from the camp site each day- so they should dress appropriately for the weather. Please see the camp brochure for more details on the camp itinerary and package costs. Cost per camper is $140 for the week; campers must bring their lunch each day.
Inclusive Swim Tuesdays and Fridays Starting July 5th From 10:00am-11:00am A Parent/ Guardian or Support Worker is required to be in the water with the participant when: The participant requires a floatation device Is unable to swim alone Is under the age of 5. Cost: $3 per swimmer (helper included)
Let’s Play @ Poole St.: This is an initiative to get kids outside and playing supervised, low-organized and active games at the park on Poole St.! This is a completely free activity and is being piloted to encourage outdoor play and youth being active! Send your kids out to join our Summer Students for a few hours of fun in the sun and tons of games from 11AM to 1PM! Please remember, that is weather is bad- rain or thunder- the games will be cancelled until next week!
Bumble Club (9-11yrs) – the Woodstock Recreation Dept. will be organizing a supervised program for youth ages 9-11. The Bumble Club will meet at the AYR Motor Centre at 12:30 to check in and from 12:30 to 5:30 there will be organized activities and games at the AYR Motor Centre as well as parks and sports fields. Cost $12
Busy Bees This is for 6-8 year olds. The drop-in will be once a week on Wednesday mornings from 7:30-12:30 and will run similar to the Bumble Club. The cost is still $12, and we will be in the field house, parks, and surrounding fields.
Special Olympics Youth Program: Every Thursday from 6-7pm in the field house beginning June 9th (with the exception of Aug 4 and Sept 1). This program is for those ages 2-12yrs with intellectual challenges. Participants will enjoy a variety of fun activities and games. . Swim Lessons: July 11th – 22nd. We’re excited to launch our new ‘Swim For Life’ program developed through the Lifesaving Society. This program includes the Canadian Swim to Survive standards. More emphasis is put on personal floatation devices and water safety. We feel that the benefits of this program will be to create a great progression into our Lifesaving and Lifeguarding programs
Youth Street Hockey Tournament: At the AYR Motor Centre upper parking lot on the paved area on Wednesday July 18th from 10 AM until 2:00 PM. Registration/ Check-in will be at 10 AM, and the teams will start playing at 10:30AM, please note there is a team maximum or 4 players. Cost to register is $10 per child and lunch will be included.
Woodstock in motion Games for 5-7 year olds!: On Friday, July 15th from 8:30 AM until 5 PM little ones between the ages of 5-7 years old will have the opportunity to participate in in motion Games just like the big kids! Registration fee is $20 and will include lunch and a t-shirt.
Western Valley in motion Games: Plaster Rock Recreation Department hosts the 34th annual Western Valley in motion Games this summer on Thursday July 21st & Friday, July 22nd. This two-day & over night sports event is for you from all over the valley and we want you to register to represent the town of Woodstock at the games! Youth must be 8-13 years old, as they will be transported by bus to and from the destination of the games. All participants must pre-register and pay in advance by contacting reception at the AYR Motor Centre at 325-4671. The cost of the Western Valley in motion Games is $45 per participant.
35th Tim Horton’s Joe McGuire Road Race: A tradition for over 30 years! Kick-off Old Home Week with the 35th Joe McGuire Road Race on Saturday, July 30th! Pre-registration is required for all three categories of the race: 5km walk, 5km run, and 10km run. Runners can register by contacting reception at the AYR Motor Centre at 325-4671 or www.raceroster.com . Racing bib and t-shirt pick up is at the Fire Hall/ Town Hall, 824 Main Street, between 7 & 8 AM only. Race starts at 8:30 AM in the parking lot area located behind town hall
